NTMA Chief Executive, Frank O’Connor was joined by Keynote Speaker, Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath TD today, at the One Planet Sovereign Wealth Funds (#OPSWF) Network Mid-Term Delegates Meeting, co-hosted by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (#ISIF) and Bloomberg and held in the NTMA offices at Treasury Dock.The OPSWF Network was established at the Paris One Planet Summit in December 2017 and ISIF joined in 2020. It also includes 47 members, comprising 18 sovereign wealth funds, 18 asset managers, and 11 private investment firms, which collectively have more than $37 trillion in assets under ownership and management. The Network collaborates on initiatives to accelerate the Net Zero transition through workstreams on Clean Hydrogen, Renewables in Emerging Markets, and Climate Data Harmonisation.Attendees across the 3-day Mid-Term Delegates Meeting in Dublin, included representatives from Sovereign Wealth Funds such as the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Kuwait Investment Authority, New Zealand Super Fund and Qatar Investment Authority, to name a few.

The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), is today announcing a €125m commitment to a new fund - Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners II (FEIP II) - to invest in renewable energy generation; energy storage solutions; and grid infrastructure. The investment is part of ISIF’s ambition to seek to invest €1bn in climate-related investments over a 5-year period. The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) welcomes the progress made on the R614 Ballyhooly Road Upgrade project in Ballyvolane, Cork City. The infrastructure work is being delivered by the Housing Infrastructure Services Company (HISCo), a commercial joint venture between ISIF and Cork County Council to build supporting housing infrastructure. This will enable the construction of 753 homes across six new neighbourhoods.HISCo provides an innovative solution to the provision of both on-site and off-site infrastructure that is hindering the delivery of residential development throughout Ireland.
