A destroyer and M/V were lying close together and attacked from mast height and the both engines of the a/c were badly damaged. Pilot brought the a/c back to Docking, but before it could land both engines failed and the a/c crash-landed and hit a gun pit killing an AC2 Pilkington RAF an AA Gunner.
